Long Past Due

Its the mountain that Colter fell in love with while he was at his first post in Korea. The mountain view over looks Seoul, Korea and the little town outside of it. But Colt said it was nothing like he would have seen in America...no barriers for safety and not to many precautions... I was glad to see that it wasnt just China that had issues with putting up safety precautions... but he said the hike was hard but worth it...he eve went back for a second try.... Ya not to sure how I feel about the rock climbing....hmmm

Just For Jon

So per request of Colter J I must clarify that the friend in the pictures from the Helicopter post is his friend Jon. They have been roommated since well forever....and I came to know Jon when I was out in North Carolina...I like to think he completes the puzzle.... I mean if you ever need something packed...Jon is excellent at doing just that...I watched him pack for Korea with all his army gear....ya there is a lot...but all of it in three duffle bags and one tuff ben. Also John is good at cheering up anyone.... so just for you Jon I post what my dad gave my little sister for Christmas...ya I know its early but hey in desparate times you gotta break some rules. Ya Jon she is wearing electric heating Chaps and vest....they plug into the bike... oh and shes an Iroz at heart which means she gets cold just like me.... so they are needed... but now Daddy and Em can go riding whenever they want...hmmm lovely....PS: Jon if you read this...(HI JON!!!)

Not sure if many know...

So I am not sure who knows and who doesnt know what Colt does in the Army...ya he's not your average cookie. But for a living he does something that he really enjoys minus out the army part. He is a mechanic on the Apache. For those that don't know these helicopters are our greatest offensive weapon in Afganistan and Iraq.

Colter has finally made it to his final destination in Korea. He is actually really excited about it. The base is extremly nice and one of his best buddies asked for a change in unit for Colt and they are going to be together still...

Korea

Colter made it to Korea after a very long flight and decided that it wasnt going to be so bad since he was able to get through the airport okay and really all was well once he got settled into life at his first base. I dont know the name of where he is right now considering he will leave it in about 6 days. SO he will be stationed at Camp Humpries an hours south of Seoul, Korea. But for now we must wait and explore.


So along with new places come new spiders. Ya, Colt thought the Camel spider in Iraq was bad... he didnt go to Korea to see their scary spiders. He said they are very big and very colorful and very scary....lol...I just laughed....sounded about right....
Well is back to living in the barracks until I can get over there, that means little beds and little places for things... oh and he has to share his room with someone else...and share a bathroom too.

But it cant be that bad...him as his roommate Eric, who is half Korea half Indian, hang out a lot... and are enjoying life together....but Eric will leave in about 6 days for a different place as he is part of a different unit.

Oh and these are the nice rooms...since these pictures Colter has been moved to a new location... I am told they are not so nice....hmmm

The Days Before He Left

I never thought it would be so hard to send him off...and I was fine until cousin Kim decided to cry when it was her time to say goodbye. Yes her husband gave her the look of disgust, but I just started crying and didnt really stop till well I still havent comepletely...but for the most part it takes a bit to get me started. Colt thought this picture was a great idea when we were sitting at the airport gate waiting for his plane to come in. I didnt think so considering I am trying to not cry in the last minutes before he leaves as they count down the minutes for us at the airport.He then decided this picture needed to be taken of me sleeping becuase well I dont really know why...but I just know I was really tired.
might as well tell you about Spook...or Spook dog... or sometimes even her name is Spooky. Anyways, she thinks that she is a lap dog, only problem is that she is about 35 lbs. Not so much...but all you have to tell her is to get down and she does. But she decided she liked my lap when we were visiting with family. Actually Grandma was over.

Well Vickie and Spooky have a good relationship.... Vickie has done this to Spook since she was a puppy and maybe thats why she gets confused about being a lap dog....maybe???

And here is Cousin Kim with her youngest Danny. Danny tries to forget that anyone exists sometimes but through the weeks we have become very good friends, partly becuase I pester him until he finally excepts that I am just going to keep pestering him and he might just want to have some fun too.

Oh and ps... if anyone wants a puppy Spooky is having kids....lol

IM A SLACKER... I KNOW

So I am a slacker and I so know it but I am going to make up for it I promise. Just havent been feeling the best and been a little crazy with Colt gone. But just so everyone knows he is loving Korea and everything about it but the fact that I am not there. SO the blog plan is to post some pictures he has sent home with dialogue and then go back to other pictures from the wedding since i still have the cake and other things.

The Rings

So many will want to see the ring, and so now its for all to see. I love it to death. I gave a certain criteria to be followed and not only did he stick to it, but he did even better. Colter's is made out of ceramic and tungsten. His choice and a rather good one. We figure with Colter's fun time being spent rumaging around in trucks and with his job including big flying machines that this type of ring might prevent scratches...(PS. I have just been told that we wished high.... he has somehow already scratched the ceramic...opps)

A New Life Awaits

Well here we are the brand new married couple. For those that feel like you should have been present for the wedding ceremony, you will still get the chance to see pictures and there will be a reception for all to attend when Colter gets his first time off from Korea.

Here Colter and I are driving to Jackson Hole, WY for our honeymoon. Colt thought it would be only 2 1/2 hours of driving but it was really 4 hours. But that's okay we still had a great time. But soon to come will be more pictures of wedding and honeymoon room. We love you all.
